From the Former Associate Dean and the Chair of Finance

On behalf of the Dean, the faculty, staff and students of the Ted Rogers School of Management, I am pleased to invite you to the 14th Annual Battle on Bay case competition. As the Associate Dean and the former Chair of the Finance department at the Ted Rogers School of Management, I have worked closely with the Battle on Bay organizers since it began in 2007. I have had the pleasure of watching Battle on Bay grow into one of the most anticipated undergraduate finance events of the year. Each year, the conference welcomes students from across Canada to take part in a challenging case competition where delegates develop their analytical and technical skills to solve current financial issues, and present their solutions to a panel of diverse professionals.

As we approach our 15th year, the Battle on Bay team continues to make it a memorable and knowledgeable experience for all delegates and professionals attending. I am confident that you will find the conference to be a fun, challenging and rewarding experience.

Best Regards,

Dr. Allen Goss

Ted Rogers School of Management

On behalf of the entire Finance faculty here at the School of Accounting and Finance at TRSM, I want to welcome you to the Battle on Bay. I hope that your experience is both fun, and valuable from a learning and networking perspective.

As the current Chair of the Finance department and a long-time faculty member, I have seen the Battle on Bay grow from humble beginnings into its current form. I think that you will find that the opportunity to compete with your colleagues from other universities, to learn from industry professionals, and generally to experience some of what it means to be in the financial hub of this country, a valuable experience.

Lastly, I want to commend all of our student organizers, our sponsors and guests, and most of all, you, for choosing to be part of the Battle on Bay this year.

Best Regards,

Dr. Alan Kaplan
Chair, Finance
